Today, I had the oppurtunity of smothering a naive marine engineer friend of mine for his naviety.
Fat-ass-IT-wannabe-friend : By 2007, I should be having my own blog.
Old-cheap-stakes-IT-renegade-me : Dude! Wake up. By 2007, blogging would be obsolete. 3G would be here. Internet and telecommunications technology would have advanced miles away from what your mind can comprehend. We would have personalized radio services where we can talk our thoughts into a mic on our watch, which would be broadcast across the globe to people listening on their favourite spectrum. I for certain would be tuned into what Kofi Annan would have to say about the war on krakosia for soya oil or Britney Spear's opinion of Christina's third breast.
Wake up man!
Ok! Maybe I went too far with this one. But, I just could not sit and take it. He keeps writing a lot of good articles and snippets on our internal messenger and several attempts to make him express his opinions on a platform with a wider audience seemed to have failed. So this outcry. Hope he wakes up soon!
If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me? For I must be travelling on, now, 'Cause there's too many places I've got to see. But, if I stayed here with you, girl, Things just couldn't be the same. 'Cause I'm as free as a bird now, And this bird you can not change. Lord knows, I can't change.
Bye, bye, its been a sweet love. Though this feeling I can't change. But please don't take it badly, 'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame. But, if I stayed here with you girl, Things just couldn't be the same. Cause I'm as free as a bird now, And this bird you'll never change. And this bird you can not change. Lord knows, I can't change. Lord help me, I can't change.
Phew! that was a long weekend. 4 odd movies in a span of 48 hrs is not an accomplishment. Too tired to write reviews about them, but I guess I enjoyed all of them.
Doom (DWayne was awesome and so is the game)
Zathura (Nothing like Jumanji, but it was good)
Eyes Wide Shut (4th time and Kubrick still can't stop impressing me)
The Devil Rejects (Rob, did a better job this time. Love the climax song - "If I leave here tomorrow")
40% ROI. Yup! That's the performance delivered by the current fund management team which relinquishes control to a new team. The IM-11 (that's the senior MBA batch at NITIE) team had done a good job getting the mutual fund operational and had overseen the AUM grow a whopping 120%.
I still say its not one of the best, but some of the investors of our fund would never have seen such a growth at close quarters. And it feels good to be part of this success. Sample this -
Rs.500 invested a year back became Rs.706 as of today. The junior batch which invested Rs.650 a month ago see their investments rise to Rs.706. That's good business done, by any standards.
The IM-12 team is good and far better than its predecessors. Wishing them success!
