This weekend was good. Went for the Great Indian Rock show at the Andheri sports complex on saturday. Some pretty good bands showed up. Funny thing! The lead singer always spoke about the moshpit created there. Its seems its the biggest ever they had all seen. And the crowd goes vroom!
Dont't they understand that to make a big moshpit, you need a lot of space and for that you need lesser crowds. Sarcasm? or was it plain good-hearted ignorance.
Sunday was even better. Visited a friend for high tea and then went for a play. "Your place or mine?". Absolutely hilarious. Suchitra Pillai was too good. Not to mention Darshan Jarriwalla who scripted and directed the play. But the one person who got me hooked was Kavitha Rathod. She was a tease. All the actors performed well and we had a good time laughing our balls off.
Its really hotting up! Tomorrow is D-Day and I hope the FM has something nice to give us. Power, Infrastructure and Capital goods. I expect something there. Automobiles maybe. Can we do away with the FBT. Any measure thats gonna affect the average hike in the IT/ITES industry is gonna take away our advantage. Or atleast reduce the period of our merry making...
The next two days are gonna be hell for me. Hope to see the sensex shoot up. That would be some respite!
While I was at Auli, I discovered a new way of calling a Tequilla shot. Its called the "Tora Bora".
Listen to this conversation
======================= Raghu (my friend) : The Indian Tibetan Border Police are practicing the Tora Bora. Me : What is that? Raghu : Oh well! its a technique employed by the ITBP skiers. They use it in combat while fleeing. Me : Oh! Raghu : Yeah! See when you need to escape you use this technique. It works on slopes. You just give a jerk and position yourself like a swimming duck and swoop down the slope with the least of resistance, reaching speeds of around 80 miles per hour. Me : Something like a tequilla shot. Raghu : Maybe! =======================
So there you go folks. Next time you are at the bar, do the Tora Bora.
These days even my blog is getting spammed. Give me a break fellas!
Had the oppurtunity to listen to the Indian Ocean and Rabbi Shergill at the Mumbai Kala Ghoda Festival. It was good. Also got to watch a play by Alyque Padamsee. Pretty old ideas, but nevertheless, the actors put on a good show.
Got a job in Mumbai and my dream of living in this great city has come true. This was something i wished for about 6 years back when my friend told me how great this place was and went about describing it to me in the minutest of details.
What am I doing? Well! Working for a financial services company, doing a lil bit of research for fund managers and trying not to fumble at it.
Had been on a vacation after my placements in January. Went to Auli, an awesome place in Uttranchal for skiing. The fun part was travelling all up there in the Himalayas along the Ganges before you could reach the resort. And once you are there, you are in a totally new world. Snow covered peaks, Tibetan Momos and Thopas, Seasoned Himalayan Veggies, Cheap Booze.
What more can you ask for? And now, I'm back in the city, trying to figure out the stock markets :P
Had been to the himalayas skiing and boy what a wonderful experience it was. There is this place called Auli in Uttranchal, where I spent about a fortnight trying to learn skiing and had some fun while at it.
