Came upon this while surfing. Thought i should put it up here so that i can come back and look at it whenever i feel so
A great saying by Saint Maharishi Pathanjali in Yoga Sutra, 500 BC:
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents come alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamt yourself to be."
Music plays a very important role in a narrative. Movies like kill bill, last of the mohicans, the good, the bad and the ugly and not to mention all James Bond movies, captivate their audience because of the right balance of music and story. I think I liked Gladiator and LOTR for the same reason.
Crash was another such movie. I don't think the message would have got through without the variety in the background score. The movie maker realized it rightly, that to evoke people's emotions, music is the key.
A fine way to end a gruelling day. I'm thinking of buying the soundtrack.
Sometimes, life does seem difficult. Lots of work, no time, lesser sleep and lots of coffee. That's how I would describe my past few days. Interesting times. You keep wondering - "What have you got yourself into?"
But then, you know what you want in life and its right there in front of you. All you have to do is walk towards it and grab it.
